Yeah, I feel like I am in some sort of Hewlett-Packard prison with all of these vertical bars in front of my face all the time.

The old cliche "read between the lines" has taken on new meaning. Currently, there are more vertical lines on my zd8000 display than I can count.

Day before yesterday, the worse line to date appeared on my screen; a huge, black vertical line that covers the entire start menu and left eighth of the screen. Oh joy. Unfortunately, I no longer have a choice but to buy a new computer. No, it certainly will not be a Hewlett-Packard or Compaq! Yes, I could pay HP to slap in a newly refurbished motherboard or I could pay HP for a brand new "buy us some time" extended warranty, but what's the point? I mean, I know the point is to keep HP's billion-dollar profit margin climbing, but man, this is ridiculous. I refuse to send HP any more of my hard-earned money. Besides, these computers are DEFECTIVE BY DESIGN and cannot be fixed by simply replacing flawed hardware with more of the same. After much research, I realize the only true fix for my computer is to replace it with a new one of a different design (definitely not a hp).

If your HP computer is suffering the same issues as mine, please don't waste your time and money trying to get hp to fix it. It will only suffer the same fate again and again. Additionally, your questions and support requests to hp will likely be met with denial, lies, and bills.  Spare yourself from some frustration and expense by reserving yourself to the fact that you've bought a lemon. Move forward. You aren't alone. Your time will be much better spent if you write down your story and submit it here where your voice will be heard. As for your money - well, haven't you given hp enough of your money already?
