I had vertical lines on my screen. I checked it out with a technician he said it was probably a loose edge connector cable or the graphics card. (I had already assumed this) After multiple calls to support, I failed to get a single english speaker who didn't waste my time.
Finally I talked to a manager to fix my laptop for I have been a victim of HP customer support before. He told me everything would be fixed so I sent in my laptop only to get a call saying that the LCD is Cracked in a very small location that can just barely be seen.
They quoted me 600 dollars and I figured I'd rather live with some lines. Or so I thought. Long story short, I got my laptop back and I couldn't see the whole right half of my screen. It was completely blank. I called HP to fix this and talked to case managers for 10, thats right, 10 hours. I went through 4 different case managers, and the fourth was a charm. DO NOT GIVE IN TO THEIR PLOY.
Case managers are NOT allowed to hang up if you don't accept their resolution. Merely keep asking to talk to different case managers. Every case manager tried to tell me HP is not reliable for further damages caused at the service station according to warranty, but nowhere does it say that in the warranty.
Argue your point as much as you can. After 10 hours today as well as maybe 5 more yesterday, I finally talked to a manager who said he would fix everything on my laptop for free. I have to send it in again and lose another two weeks, but what has to be done has to be done.
Good luck everyone, and never buy HP again.
PS If you talk to someone named Alice, yell at her for me. She gave me hours of hell.
