Is there anything for me to do to fix this problem. I started seeing one line last week and now I am seeing 3 lines on the left side of the screen. I have noticed my fan spins up more often than normal. I read briefly someone mentioning it could be cause by overheating. So if I clean my PC will this solve the problem or at least halt the process? HELP PLEASE I AM SHORT ON CASH AND DON'T HAVE THE MONEY OR THE BILLS FOR A REPAIR.

This Is My Second Screen! The first screen went up under warranty! Now about a week ago, The dreaded thin blue line is back! Just give it some time and others will follow! Since HP wont cover it now, i just ordered an external monitor,I hope it works minus the blue line!

My ZD8110US will be 4 years old in May 2009. After the first 2 years - beyond the warranty period - my screen developed the dreaded colorful lines. As I usually do when I have a problem with a product I wrote to the CEO of HP. At the time this was Carly Fiorina. A very nice assistant in the executive offices of HP called me, apologized and sent me a prepaid mailer to send the laptop to their repair facility. After the repair was done I bought myself a smaller, more mobile Toshiba which became my primary PC. I began using the old HP at work as a radio to listen to Sirius. A few weeks ago ( exactly 2 years after the repair job) the v. lines returned on the HP - a 3 inch group about mid screen. Oh well. It's just a big old radio anyway.
